We aim to develop and inspire local talent by providing a place where committed and determined people, young and old alike, can learn the craft of acting in a safe, secure and professional environment.

A studio theatre in the heart of Leigh, we are up on the fourth floor of the Spinners Mill. With fringe shows, touring shows and in house productions, there's something for everyone at The Way. We also have a cosy bar and seating area for your pre show drinks! We are extremely passionate about bringing theatre to the people of Leigh and beyond. 

We are only a bus ride away from towns and cities such as Manchester, Salford, Warrington, Wigan and Bolton.

National Theatre Connections

In 2020 we joined forces with the brilliant National Theatre for our production of ‘Tuesday’. Performed by the A Will And A Way advanced class, this was a sci-fi adventure full of mystery set in a high school. It was performed at both The Way Theatre and The Lowry Theatre. 

A Will and A Way Productions

We always like to give our pupils the opportunity to perform in front of a live theatre audiences. They are always entirely different! Maybe you might go time travelling while trying to rescue your family in a production of ‘On borrowed time’, or join 5 best mates in their secret den in the show ‘This Town Of Ours’. The list is endless and they are always tailor made by professional writers especially for the classes, meaning everyone gets the chance to perform! 

In House Productions

We are incredibly passionate about bringing high quality, accessible, professional theatre to our local area. You’ll get the chance to see familiar faces of screen and stage in our intimate theatre setting. In 2018 we brought Christmas classic ‘It’s a wonderful life’ to the stage and audiences absolutely loved it! In 2023 we’ve got the award winning ‘Frozen Peas In An Old Tin Can’ in the space; a northern comedy drama. 

Out of House Productions

If we ain’t in the theatre, you can find us in local public parks providing top class theatre to the north west. Our national tours of ‘Wind In The Willows’ and ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ quickly became family favourites. I mean what’s better than being sat in the park, Ice cream in hand watching Alice and Humpty Dumpty on their exciting escapades, or taking in the sights of Toad Hall? 

Visiting Companies

We think it’s great to bring as much top quality theatre as we can to Leigh, so we love having touring shows visit the space with their very own productions. We have had some fantastic shows visit our space, including Oldham Coliseum associate artists Dare to Know Theatre with their critically acclaimed show ‘Drowning’, and popular published children author Oliver Sykes with his superb show ‘Alfie’s First Fight’.
